Can I attend if I don’t live in Manchester?
Anyone can attend however a geographic emphasis will be placed on each cohort based upon where the employment demand is. For instance one cohort might be focused on the North West and the following might be focused on Wales or Cornwall. Where a cohort is focused on a geographic area that is far from Manchester, accommodation from Sunday to Thursday will be provided in Manchester for those attending the bootcamp.
Do you provide any payment or bursary while I’m on the bootcamp?
We understand that most people interested in retraining aren’t in a position to take four weeks out without pay to attend a bootcamp due to bills and other commitments. As such the Telecoms Engineer bootcamp partner, Telcom Group, commits to the following payments for all graduates of the course:
- Graduates who successfully secure a role with Telcom Group = 1 month backdated salary based upon a £24,000 starting salary
- Graduates who successfully complete the course but fail to secure a role with Telcom Group = £500 stipend payment

The course is free to all applicants as the cost of running the course is funded by the course partner Telcom Group.
What qualifications will the course provide?
The bootcamp is intended to provide graduates with a well rounded hands on experience in being a telecommunications engineer. The course curriculum closely mirrors the Openreach certification process to which the majority of telecommunications companies in the UK adhere. Upon completion of the course, graduates who are placed with Telcom Group will be put through the official Openreach certification course, funded by Telcom Group. Those graduates who secure a position with a different corporate partner should also expect to be put through the certification process.
